Yuji Itadori, a senior in a high school in Sendai, has an extraordinary degree of physical fitness. As he sits on his deathbed, Itadori’s grandfather gives his grandson two life-changing bits of advice: “always aid others” and “die surrounded by people.” When Itadori’s friends in the Occult Club broke apart a decaying finger talisman, he became the host of a powerful Curse known as Ryomen Sukuna. Because of this, Curses began targeting their school. Megumi Fushiguro and Itadori’s other pals were in jeopardy because of him. In order to rid the world of the evil that is Sukuna, all sorcerers must immediately perform an exorcism ritual (and, by implication, Itadori). Satoru Gojo, Megumi’s sensei, takes Itadori to the Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School with a suggestion to his superiors: put off Itadori’s execution and have him train with Gojo until he eats all of Sukuna’s fingers, thereby destroying the Curse. Satoru Gojo, Megumi’s instructor, invites Itadori to school after seeing how well Itadori controlled his body. At the same time, a band of cursed spirits is laying the groundwork for an all-out attack on the world of jujutsu magic. They include the cursed ghost Mahito and the perverse sorcerer Suguru Geto, who was killed by Gojo a year ago. The headmaster of the Kyoto dojo insisted that Itadori be disqualified from the jujutsu match between the Tokyo and Kyoto schools. However, some, including as Gojo’s fellow student Nobara Kugisaki, back his attempts to save Itadori’s life.
This episode reveals the Mechamaru’s pilot, second-year Kyoto Jujutsu Tech student Kokichi Muta, to be a mole. Geto and the curse’s ghosts build a barrier over Shibuya. Many different types of sorcerers go there to do battle. After Gojo defeats the bad spirits and rescues Hanami from a curse, Geto locks him within a certain object. Additionally, the events prove that the current Geto is not the original Geto but rather Geto’s body that has been possessed by the old sorcerer Kenjaku. Despite the fact that Gojo is still imprisoned inside the artifact, Itadori and his allies engage Kenjaku’s forces in battle. When the episode concludes, Kenjaku explains that he has been implanting Binding Vows and hopping around from body to body for thousands of years. Because of this, hundreds of dormant sorcerers throughout Japan have awakened, including Megumi’s step-sister Tsumiki Fushiguro. Then, he unleashes a torrent of curses on Japan, ushering in an age of chaos and a world populated by cursed spirits akin to those of the Heian Period.
